FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -The New York Jets have selected speedy Boise State cornerback Kyle Wilson with the 29th pick in the NFL draft, adding yet another piece to the defense that ranked No. 1 in the league last season.
The Jets took Wilson on Thursday night despite already having All-Pro Darrelle Revis, newly acquired Antonio Cromartie and Dwight Lowery at cornerback. Coach Rex Ryan repeatedly has said he likes to stockpile players at the position.
Wilson, from nearby Piscataway, N.J., had 11 interceptions at Boise State and returned three punts for scores during his career. He became a starter in the second half of his freshman season and helped lead Boise State to a Fiesta Bowl victory over TCU to cap his college career.
