CHICAGO (AP) -Chicago Bears chairman Michael McCaskey will retire after the 2010 season, and his brother George McCaskey will take over his role.
McCaskey announced his decision Wednesday.
The grandson of Bears founder George Halas, Michael McCaskey served as team president from 1983-1999. He moved upstairs after the Bears botched the hiring of Dave McGinnis as head coach, and Ted Phillips became president and CEO – a job that he still holds.
During his stint as Bears chairman, Michael McCaskey has served on finance, long range planning, stadium and NFL Properties committees.
