TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) – Safety Adrian Wilson has signed a contract with Arizona so he can retire as a Cardinal.
Wilson spent 12 seasons with Arizona after being a third-round pick in the 2001 NFL draft. He was a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro with the Cardinals.
A five-time captain at Arizona, Wilson is one of six players in NFL history to accumulate at least 25 sacks and 25 interceptions.
He had 987 career tackles, 25 1-2 sacks, 27 interceptions and four touchdowns in 181 career games, including 162 starts.
Since sacks became an official statistic in 1982, Wilson’s sacks rank as the fourth-best total in league history among defensive backs and his eight sacks in 2005 were the most in a single season in NFL history by a defensive back.
