CORTLAND, N.Y. (AP) -Gov. David Paterson will be in Cortland, where college officials have been negotiating with the NFL’s New York Jets to host their training camp this summer.
Paterson’s office isn’t commenting about the governor’s visit Monday, but says he will make an announcement.
Cortland mayor Tom Gallagher has been working with SUNY Cortland officials for the past month to persuade the Jets to make the move.
Jets officials said earlier this month that new coach Rex Ryan wanted to move the Jets’ training camp from Florham Park, N.J. The team also considered Cornell University, Utica College and Marist College in Poughkeepsie.
