MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – Former Auburn star Nick Fairley is trying not to get stressed out by fluctuations in his NFL draft stock.
The Lombardi Award-winning defensive tackle went from buzz that he would be the first player picked to being forecast as a likely top-10 choice amid questions about his work ethic.
Fairley says it “would be a very stressful deal for me” if he paid attention to that talk and says his work ethic is fine.
He has had private interviews with Denver, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Tennessee and Washington. All six teams pick in the top 10.
ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay says there are concerns about Fairley’s work ethic and the fierce pass rusher’s ability against the run. McShay also says Fairley has the talent to be an impact NFL player.
