KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -The Kansas City Chiefs will go to training camp with two 1,000-yard rushers for the first time since the late Lamar Hunt founded the franchise in 1959.
Exactly what they’re going to do with rising star Jamaal Charles and veteran Thomas Jones is anybody’s guess.
The 23-year-old Charles came off the bench last year and rushed for 1,120 yards in just 190 carries.
Jones, who will soon be 32, rushed for a career-best 1,402 yards last year with the New York Jets. The Chiefs signed the free agent last month.
The duo could be an effective one-two punch for a team on the rebound after winning only six games the past two seasons.
