FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) – Prosecutors are expected to rest in the murder trial of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez.
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating his fiancee’s sister. Lloyd was killed less than a mile from Hernandez’s home.
Prosecutors’ final witness Thursday is expected to be the medical examiner, who would testify about Lloyd’s injuries after being shot multiple times.
The trial has lasted more than two months.
Among the hundreds of pieces of evidence submitted is surveillance video that shows Hernandez holding what appears to be a gun less than 10 minutes after Lloyd’s killing and a marijuana joint found near Lloyd’s body with DNA from both men on it.
Hernandez’s lawyer has said he expects to rest on Monday.
