CLEVELAND (AP) - Jason Campbell is confident he's still capable of being an NFL starting quarterback.
When it comes to joining his new team, the Cleveland Browns, Campbell is more interested in getting off to a fresh start than worrying where he might fit on the Browns' depth chart with Brandon Weeden.
Noting he's been promised nothing by the team after signing a two-year contract this week, Campbell said Thursday that it's his intention to help the Browns in any way he can.
The 32-year-old Campbell has 71 career starts split between Washington, Oakland and Chicago. And the Redskins 2005 first-round draft pick feels rejuvenated some 16 months since being sidelined by a broken collarbone.
The rebuilding Browns signed Campbell to compete with Weeden, who is coming off an uneven rookie season.
