RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – A co-defendant in the Michael Vick dogfighting case has been returned to prison for 11 months for violating his probation.
Quanis Phillips declined to speak Monday before a federal judge in Richmond sentenced him.
Phillips admitted lying to his probation officer when he denied contacting Vick during the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback’s birthday party in Virginia Beach last summer. Phillips was shot in the leg outside the event. He admitted failing to tell his probation officer about being questioned by police that night and on other occasions.
He also skipped a mandatory mental health appointment and failed a drug test.
In 2007, Phillips was sentenced to 21 months in prison and three years of probation for his role in the Vick dogfighting operation.
