CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -The Carolina Panthers signed safety Terrence Holt, a former North Carolina State star, to a one-year contract on Thursday.
Holt, the younger brother of St. Louis Rams receiver Torry Holt, started all 16 games for Arizona last season, and had 75 tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. But Holt did not have an interception and was released on Feb. 21.
Holt spent the previous four seasons in Detroit, the last two as a starter, although the Lions decided not to re-sign him after the 2006 season. Holt has 241 tackles and eight interceptions in his career and has also played on special teams.
