ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) – The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent offensive lineman Donald Penn to a two-year contract.
Penn announced on Twitter on Wednesday that he signed the deal with the team he cheered for as a child. NFL Network reported that the contract is worth $9.6 million with $4.2 million guaranteed.
Oakland also announced that safety Usama Young officially signed the two-year deal he agreed to last week to return to the Raiders.
Penn fills the void created when Jared Veldheer left as a free agent for Arizona. Oakland originally slated Rodger Saffold to fill that crucial spot but those plans fell through when the Raiders voided a five-year contract because of concerns about his shoulder.
