BOONE, N.C. (AP) -The wiry and fast quarterback who led Appalachian State to a stunning victory at Michigan thinks he can play the position at the next level. The college coach who won two lower-tier national championships with him is even more convinced.
But Armanti Edwards just wants to play in the NFL, be it quarterback, receiver or kick returner. So Edwards wasn’t going to pass up doing anything for the scouts from 10 NFL teams who attended his pro day Tuesday and watched him run the 40-yard dash in about 4.43 seconds.
Edwards threw, caught passes and even fielded punts as he eyes next month’s NFL draft.
Edwards is the only player in NCAA Division I history to pass for over 10,000 yards and rush for 4,000 more.
