MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Vikings coach Brad Childress says he is “absolutely not” the source who leaked the positive results of a doping test involving two of his players two years ago.
Childress testified Friday as a judge hears a lawsuit filed against the NFL by Vikings defensive linemen Kevin Williams and Pat Williams. The two sued the league, saying it violated Minnesota labor law when it used its anti-drug policy against them in 2008.
Childress testified about the “culture of honesty” the Vikings organization has sought to create. He described the disappointment in Kevin Williams after the doping report first surfaced in October 2008.
The two players tested positive for a banned diuretic they hoped would help them lose weight. They are not accused of taking steroids.
