Who would lose out if the NFL and the players’ union can’t reach a deal on a new labor agreement and some or all of the 2011 season is not played?
Economists compare the impact to an earthquake – the closer you are to the epicenter the worse it will be.
On the front line are stadium workers. The NFLPA estimates there are an average of 3,739 workers at each game, and that does not include jobs at places near the stadium that are at least partly dependent on games, such as bars, restaurants, hotels and gas stations.
Many of those people have other jobs, too, but they’re still depending on the income from working game days.
