ATLANTA (AP) – The Atlanta Falcons have re-signed wide receiver and special teams leader Eric Weems.
Weems had 10 catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns with Atlanta in 2014 after returning to the team in the preseason. He played with the Falcons from 2007-11 before spending two seasons with the Chicago Bears.
Weems was voted to the Pro Bowl as a special teams player following the 2010 season. He had 13 tackles in 2014 to lead the special teams.
The 29-year-old Weems will provide depth at wide receiver behind starters Julio Jones and Roddy White. The Falcons released Harry Douglas, who had been the No. 3 receiver.
