EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -Antrel Rolle is looking forward to being paired at safety in the New York Giants secondary with fellow University of Miami product Kenny Phillips.
Rolle said on Saturday that he and Phillips will bring out the best in each other and “be a dynamic duo.” Rolle spoke during a teleconference a day after the Giants made him the highest-paid safety in the NFL with a a five-year, $37 million contract.
The 27-year-old Rolle had 12 interceptions in five years with the Arizona Cardinals. Last season, he 60 tackles and had four interceptions, one of which came against the Giants on Oct. 25.
Phillips missed all of last season with a serious hip injury.
Rolle also believes the Giants aren’t “that far removed from a Super Bowl.”
