A disorderly conduct charge against Denver Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall has been dismissed in an Atlanta court, according to his Denver-based lawyer, Harvey Steinberg.
Before the charge was dropped Monday, the Pro Bowl receiver had been facing the possibility of a lengthy suspension from the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct code.
Marshal was suspended for a game last year for repeated run-ins with the law. He was looking at perhaps a suspension of eight games or more.
Marshall was arrested in Atlanta on Sunday morning following a fight and spent five hours in Atlanta City Jail before posting $300 bond.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told The Associated Press on Monday the league was investigating the latest incident.
