DENVER (AP) -A woman who was wounded when Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was shot to death has testified that she didn’t realize at first that she had been hit.
Nicole Reindl testified Friday in the trial of Willie Clark, who’s charged with first-degree murder. Prosecutors say he fired the fatal shots into Williams’ rented limousine on New Year’s Day 2007.
Reindl, a friend of one of Williams’ teammates, was also in the limo and was shot in the head. She says the bullet is still in her head and that she hopes to have it removed eventually.
Reindl says she didn’t realize she was shot until the limo stopped and she got out. She says she first thought the bullet holes in a window might have been from rocks.
