INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress said he hasn't determined yet whether he will punish left tackle Bryant McKinnie, who was charged with a felony following a confrontation at a Miami night club over the weekend.
Speaking to reporters at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Childress said he was still trying to gather all the information from Miami police about the incident.
``I don't have all the information because I've been in meetings and workouts all weekend, but I have gotten a chance to speak with his family,'' Childress said. He declined to elaborate on his discussion with McKinnie's family.
McKinnie was charged with aggravated battery and disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence after a street brawl outside Club Space early Sunday morning.
Miami police found McKinnie ``in the middle of a large crowd, throwing punches and again yelling obscenities,'' according to the police report.
Childress was asked on Monday if the team has made a decision on a punishment or heard from the NFL about any disciplinary action McKinnie might face.
``No,'' Childress said. ``We don't have all the information, so how could you make a decision?''
The 6-foot-8, 335-pound former first-round draft pick is a staple on the offensive line, teaming with guard Steve Hutchinson and center Matt Birk to form one of the best in the league.
He could face discipline from the league, which is cracking down on unruly behavior by its players off the field. McKinnie has a history of misbehavior, most notably when he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct following the infamous Love Boat incident on Lake Minnetonka in 2005.
McKinnie signed a seven-year, $48.5 million contract extension in September 2006.
