CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -Former NFL cornerback Curtis Deloatch is in a North Carolina jail after being accused of assaulting a female.
According to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s office, Deloatch was arrested Friday and remained at the county jail Saturday morning on the misdemeanor charge.
Details on the arrest were not immediately available. There was no answer at a phone number for the jail to indicate whether Deloatch had an attorney.
Deloatch started 13 games for the New York Giants in 2005 before playing for New Orleans a year later. He spent most of 2007 on injured reserve with the Carolina Panthers.
Carolina cut Deloatch in training camp last year and he did not catch on with another team.
