ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -The Denver Broncos on Monday hired former NFL standout linebacker Roman Phifer to assist linebackers coach Don Martindale.
This is the first coaching job for Phifer, a 15-year NFL veteran and three-time Super Bowl champion. He played for the Rams, Jets, Patriots and Giants.
The Broncos also announced they are retaining Keith Burns as assistant special teams coach, completing new coach Josh McDaniels’ staff. Burns is a 13-year NFL veteran who spent 11 seasons in Denver and has spent the last two seasons working with the Broncos’ special teams.
