TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -Russ Grimm wasn’t sure when, if ever, he’d make into the pro football Hall of Fame, but he says his selection made it “the greatest day of my life.”
The Arizona Cardinals assistant head coach and offensive line coach was honored with his selection to the Hall on Saturday for his 11 seasons as guard on the Washington Redskins’ famed Hogs offensive line. He appeared in four Super Bowls.
Grimm says he doesn’t believe it has sunk in yet that he has finally made it after falling short as a finalist for several years.
He says that after those near misses he had stopped worrying about something he knew he couldn’t control.
