DALLAS (AP) – With thawing temperatures expected over the weekend, airlines are optimistic that out-of-town fans will get to icy Texas in time to see the Super Bowl.
At least 1,250 flights to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport have been canceled this week, but the airport was running on a nearly normal schedule Thursday even though temperatures were stuck in the low 20s.
American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith says Friday will be the busiest travel day for fans coming to the game, and the airline isn’t worried about a forecast for a dusting of new snow.
