ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Troy Polamalu strolled toward his podium on media day at the Super Bowl a few minutes late when teammate Ryan Clark spotted him.
Polamalu’s hair was in a ponytail Tuesday, covered by the hood on his gray Pittsburgh Steelers sweat shirt.
“They want to see your hair,” Clark shouted out, smiling. “Head & Shoulders is gonna be mad, Troy!”
A few minutes later, Hines Ward put on a Polamalu-like wig. Clark tried it on, too, and yelled out as the curls covered his eyes: “How do you do this, dude?”
Truth is, Polamalu is much more than just a head of long, luscious locks of black hair. The star safety is the disruptive force behind the Steelers’ big-time defense, and a guy the Green Bay Packers need to always be aware of Sunday.
