SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -Jimmy Raye has agreed to terms with the San Francisco 49ers to become the club’s seventh offensive coordinator in seven seasons.
The 62-year-old Raye has been an offensive coordinator for six previous franchises, including the Oakland Raiders in 2004-05. He spent the last three seasons as the New York Jets’ running backs coach.
Raye was the eighth candidate to interview with 49ers coach Mike Singletary, but he quickly got the job. Former St. Louis coach Scott Linehan turned down the position earlier this month.
