NEW YORK (AP) -Sunday’s AFC championship game drew 40.6 million viewers and the NFC game was watched by 38.4 million.
Fox’s broadcast of the Arizona Cardinals’ win over Philadelphia earned a 21.9 rating in the afternoon slot before the prime-time broadcast of Baltimore-Pittsburgh on CBS.
The NFC game fell short of the network’s 29.0 from the previous season, for the New York Giants’ 23-20 OT win over Green Bay.
The NFL said Wednesday that the playoffs overall had an average rating of 17.4, for 29.9 million viewers.
