FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) – Mark Sanchez is a goofball kid who also happens to be one of the most successful road playoff quarterbacks in NFL history.
The New York Jets’ young star doesn’t have the gaudy career numbers of Carson Palmer, Philip Rivers, Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. But he has sent all four home in the playoffs the past two seasons.
What’s more, he’s already got one thing on Broadway Joe: Sanchez ranks first in Jets history with four career playoff victories, and he’s got his team a win away from the Super Bowl again.
He makes fans hold their breath at times with his inconsistent stretches, but all Sanchez has done is win. One more road victory, he’ll have five in two postseasons – more than any quarterback.
