ASHBURN, Va. (AP) – General manager Bruce Allen says the Washington Redskins “made some progress” this season as the franchise tries to become known more for winning than for ridicule.
The progress was minimal. The Redskins went 6-10 and bore the brunt of nationwide embarrassment over high-profile disputes with Albert Haynesworth and Donovan McNabb.
Fans hoped the drama would stop with the arrival of Allen and coach Mike Shanahan a year ago. Allen, in a rare meeting with reporters Thursday, said “everyone’s got to learn to grow together” under the new regime.
Allen was noncommittal when asked about Haynesworth and McNabb, neither of whom is expected to return next season.
