FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards is back with the team after missing practice to make a court appearance in Cleveland on Tuesday.
Edwards was placed on probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor aggravated disorderly conduct in Cleveland.
He says he was upset about missing practice, but is relieved about being able to “fully step out of Cleveland” and focus on New York’s playoff run. The Jets play at San Diego on Sunday.
Edwards initially pleaded not guilty in November to misdemeanor assault after he was accused of punching a friend of NBA star LeBron James on Oct. 5 outside a downtown nightclub. The former Browns receiver was traded to the Jets two days later.
