ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -The Detroit Lions have interviewed Miami defensive backs coach Todd Bowles for their vacant head coaching job.
The 45-year-old Bowles visited the team’s complex in suburban Allen Park on Tuesday. He’s one of several candidates to replace Rod Marinelli, who was fired Dec. 29 after the franchise finished the league’s first 0-16 campaign.
Bowles was a defensive back for Washington and San Francisco during an eight-year playing career.
Miami followed 2007’s 1-15 record with an 11-5 mark and won the AFC East.
