TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -Arizona assistant coach Russ Grimm has been given permission by the Cardinals to talk to the Buffalo Bills about their head coaching job.
Grimm says, however, that no interview has been scheduled. He says the Bills are working through his agent and he doesn’t know if any talks will materialize.
Grimm is a longtime associate of Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt, serving as the Cardinals’ assistant head coach, running game coordinator and offensive line coach.
The former standout offensive guard for the Washington Redskins interviewed for the Arizona job before Whisenhunt was hired in 2007. After he didn’t get the job, Grimm followed Whisenhunt from the Pittsburgh Steelers staff to the Cardinals.
