KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – With Charlie Weis leaving town, head coach Todd Haley says he will consider calling plays next year for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Weis was offensive coordinator this season and had a big hand in helping the Chiefs make a six-game improvement and win their first AFC West title since 2003. But Weis is leaving to become offensive coordinator at Florida.
Haley said he intends to hire a new offensive coordinator. But he did not rule out calling plays himself next season. A former offensive coordinator with the Arizona Cardinals, Haley called plays as the head coach his first year in Kansas City in 2009.
