FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -Vince Wilfork and Ty Warren are ready to return to the New England Patriots defense.
It sure could use them.
Both participated fully in practice for the second straight day Thursday in preparation for Sunday’s wild-card playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens. Wilfork, selected to his second Pro Bowl at nose tackle, missed the last three games with a foot injury. Warren, a defensive end, missed two of those games and most of the third.
Without the duo, the Patriots allowed 144 yards rushing last Sunday in a 34-27 win over the Houston Texans, who have one of the NFL’s worst rushing attacks.
The challenge will be much tougher against Ray Rice and Willis McGahee. The Ravens rushing offense is ranked fifth in the league.
