RENTON, Wash. (AP) -Punter Jon Ryan has a new multiyear deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
The team confirmed the signing Wednesday, but did not release details. Canadian Press reported Ryan’s deal as a $9.1 million, six-year extension to remain with the team.
The native of Regina, Saskatchewan just finished his fourth season in the NFL and averaged 46.2 yards per kick, good for eighth in the league and the best mark of his career. His 38.7 net average was also the highest in his four seasons.
Ryan’s deal includes a $1.6 million signing bonus, Canadian Press reported.
Ryan, 28, started his NFL career with Green Bay before being released in 2008 and joining the Seahawks. He started his professional career in the CFL, spending two years with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
