FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – Bill Belichick says this is just another bye week to him. The difference is he doesn’t know yet who he’ll be playing the following weekend.
So the coach of the New England Patriots will spend a few days studying his three possible opponents while his players do some self-scouting until they find out their first playoff foe.
The Patriots will play the New York Jets on Jan. 16 if the Jets beat the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night. Otherwise, it will be the winner of Sunday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens.
Meanwhile, Belichick said the Patriots will try to improve themselves and use their time wisely. But they’re not saying who they prefer to play in their next game.
