IRVING, Texas (AP) -The Dallas Cowboys enter the playoffs with a nice balance to their running game, even if their last touchdown drive may have been a bit of an exaggeration.
Hard-running Marion Barber started the two-play series catching a short pass before bulling forward for a 14-yard gain. Fleet-footed Felix Jones then scampered to the left sideline for a 49-yard touchdown run in the regular-season finale victory against Philadelphia.
Instead of alternating series between their top two runners like they usually did earlier in the season, the NFC East champion Cowboys (11-5) have started interchanging the backs within plays on the same drives. Each has similar abilities, but differs in style and body build.
Tight end Jason Witten says that helps the offense and puts defenses in tough situations.
