EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -The Minnesota Vikings have a bye for the first round of the playoffs. Their plan now is to rest.
Coach Brad Childress said Monday he has given the players the entire week off. Practice will resume Sunday, and the Vikings will host a divisional round game the following Sunday, Jan. 17.
After losing three of four games in December, the Vikings got back on track with a 44-7 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday. Childress says he’s not concerned about losing the rhythm gained from that game.
The coach says he’s confident in the leadership and chemistry of the team, and he is more focused on allowing players extra time to heal.
