ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - As much as the NFL is a passing league, it still helps to be able to run the ball.
In playoff games during the Super Bowl era, teams with a 100-yard rusher are 157-37, an .809 winning percentage, while teams with a 300-yard passer are 57-66, only .463, according to STATS LLC.
The Redskins and Seahawks - who play each other Sunday - and the Vikings are unabashedly putting emphasis on running. That trio of playoff participants had the league's top rushers in Adrian Peterson, Alfred Morris and Marshawn Lynch.
The top three quarterbacks in yards passing, meanwhile, are done for the season: Drew Brees, Matthew Stafford and Tony Romo.
Says Washington's Santana Moss: ``When you really want to win games, you have to have both parts of your offense working, the air and the ground.''
