Super Bowl XLIV Odds

Oddsmakers have released the futures odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl, which will be held in Miami, Florida on February 7, 2010.

Bet NFL Super Bowl Futures Odds

Even though the Pittsburgh Steelers are the current defending champions, oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING have made the New England Patriots the favorites to win Super Bowl XLIV at 9/2. The Super Bowl champion Steelers are 9/1 to win.

Despite becoming NFC Champions last season, the Arizona Cardinals are only 22/1 to win the 2009 Super Bowl. Concerns about the return of receiver Anquan Boldin could be one of the reasons why oddsmakers have made the Cards long shots. But the more obvious reason is that Arizona seemingly came out of nowhere to make a Super Bowl appearance last year, so oddsmakers are a little hesitant to give them short odds.

Other intriguing odds are the New York Giants at 10/1, the Dallas Cowboys at 14/1, the Chicago Bears at 20/1 and the Atlanta Falcons at 22/1.

The Giants should once again be competitive after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles (14/1) in last year’s postseason. But they cut troubled receiver Plaxico Burress in the offseason and are trying to replace him with rookies or inexperienced players so it’ll be interesting to see how oddsmakers play with New York’s odds as the season draws closer.

The Cowboys are always an intriguing bet because of how talented they are, but it remains to be seen if this team can ever get over the hump. This will essentially be a make or break year for quarterback Tony Romo, who will be without receiver Terrell Owens after the team decided to part ways with him in the offseason.

The Bears and Falcons are expected to be two teams that could make a deep run this year. Chicago finally found a quarterback in Jay Cutler (formerly of the Broncos), while the Falcons should have one of the more explosive offenses in the entire league. (Although their defense remains a question mark.

Among others, the Baltimore Ravens (20/1), Carolina Panthers (20/1) and Minnesota Vikings (16/1) should all garner bettors’ attention this summer and leading up to the regular season, too. For complete odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl, see below.
