Texans vs. Broncos Free Pick
DENVER, CO (TheSpread) – In one of the few games that doesn’t hold meaning in the landscape of the playoffs, the Denver Broncos will host the Houston Texans in Week 16 on Sunday. Continue reading for odds, picks and more for this NFL matchup.
According to current NFL odds and oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, the Broncos are 2.5-point underdogs against the Texans in Week 16. The over/under total for this game is currently 49.5 points.
The Texans dropped to 5-9 on the year with their loss in Tennessee last Sunday and are now 5-9 against the spread according to latest NFL trends. They’re 2-5 on the road this season and failed to cover in four of those seven games.
The Broncos are now 3-11 after the Raiders blew them out last Sunday. They’re 4-10 against the spread in 2010, which includes a 2-4 ATS record at home. They’re just 2-4 straight up at Invesco Field at Mile High.
NFL Week 16 Free Pick:
Even though the total is sitting at 48.5, this one could go over by halftime. Neither of these teams play defense and while Matt Schaub and Co. struggled last Sunday in Tennessee, the Texans’ offense should bounce back this week. (It’s kind of hard not to when you’re playing the Broncos.) On the other side, Denver will look to keep things conservative with Tim Tebow again, but conservative doesn’t always produce low-scoring results. Tebow made a couple of nice plays last week and he could find the end zone a couple times again this week against a bad Houston secondary. The over is 4-0 in the Broncos’ last four home games and 6-1 in the Texans’ last seven games overall. It’s also 4-0 in Houston’s last four road games and 5-1 in their last six versus the AFC. Our pick is the over 49.5.
