Patriots vs. Bills Free Pick
BUFFALO, NY (TheSpread) – The New England Patriots are trying to wrap up the top seed in the AFC but the suddenly pesky Buffalo Bills await them on Sunday. Continue reading for odds, picks and more on this AFC East Week 16 NFL matchup.
According to current NFL Week 16 odds and oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, the Patriots are 9-point favorites over the Bills this Sunday. The over/under total for this game is 44.5 points.
The Patriots improved to 12-2 on the season with their win over the Packers last Sunday but failed to cover and are now 8-5-1 against the spread according to latest NFL trends. They’re 5-2 on the road this year and covered in five of those seven games.
The Bills won for their second straight week when they beat the Dolphins in Miami last weekend. They’re now 4-10 on the year and have covered in eight of their 14 games with one push. They’re 2-4 at home this season with an ATS record of 3-3.
NFL Week 16 Free Pick:
We love the over in this one. After the Patriots nearly lost to the Matt Flynn-led Packers last Sunday, we expect Bill Belichick’s team to come out more focused and prepared this week. That means plenty of points for Tom Brady and Co., which still managed to put up 31 points on a good Green Bay defense last week (although they got help from a defensive touchdown and an unexpected kickoff return by guard Dan Connolly). The under has been hitting a lot in the Bills’ home games (4-0 to be exact), but we like bucking the trend here. Buffalo had some success moving the ball against the Patriots in Foxboro last Sunday and the over is 4-0 in New England’s last four road games. If it snows, we like the over even more. Brady averages about 96 points per game in blizzards, so have at it Mother Nature – pound Buffalo with the white stuff. Our pick is the over 44.5.
