Bears vs. Cardinals Odds
GLENDALE, AZ (The Spread) – The Bears are in need of a win on Sunday when they hit the road to face the Cardinals at 4:25PM ET on FOX.
CHICAGO: The Bears are 8-6 this season and in the log jam for the final spot in the NFC playoffs. Chicago started the year 7-1 but are just 1-5 in their last six games, including a 21-13 loss at home to the Packers last week which allowed Green Bay to lock up the NFC North title. In each of their last five losses, the Bears have been held to 17 points or less. In last week’s loss, Chicago was held to just 190 total yards and just 107 passing yards against an average Packers defense. The Chicago defense, which has been dealing with a lot of injuries, gave up 391 yards to the Packers. Jay Cutler was 12 of 21 passing for 135 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the loss. He was also sacked 4 times and has been sacked 35 times this season. Cutler has just one 300-yard passing game for the season.
ARIZONA: The Cardinals snapped a 9-game losing streak last week with an impressive 38-10 win over the Lions at home. What makes the win more surprising is that Arizona only had 196 total yards of offense in the win. The defense really stepped up, creating four turnovers, two of which were returned for touchdowns and one that set up the Cardinals inside the 10-yard line. Beanie Wells was the beneficiary of the turnovers, as he ended up with three rushing touchdowns on the day. Arizona enters this week’s game as the worst offense in the NFL in terms of yardage, averaging only 264.2 yards per game. They are third when it comes to scoring at 16.0 points per contest.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bears are the favorite on the road, as they have odds of -5 points against the Cardinals. The over/under total has been set at 36.5 points. Chicago is 8-6 on the season, 3-3 on the road and 6-8 against the spread. Arizona is 5-9 overall, 4-3 at home and 6-7-1 against the spread.
TRENDS: The Bears are just 1-4 against the spread in their last 5 meetings with the Cardinals. Chicago is also just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 conference games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games in December. Arizona is only 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 conference games but 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games after accumulating less than 250 total yards in their previous game.
