JACKSONVILLE, FL (The Spread) – The Patriots are coming off a loss at home and looking to take their frustrations out on the Jaguars on Sunday at 1PM ET on CBS.
NEW ENGLAND: The Patriots are coming off a 41-34 loss at home against the 49ers. That loss snapped a 7-game losing streak for New England and puts them in the No. 3 seed in the AFC, 1 game behind Denver for the No. 2 seed. New England lost the game to San Francisco despite racking up 520 total yards. Tom Brady started the game slow, as the Patriots were down 31-3 in the third quarter, but he rallied to throw for 443 yards on 36 of 65 passing with two total touchdowns. New England did have four turnovers in the loss to the 49ers. San Francisco racked up a total of 383 yards on New England, including 180 rushing yards.
JACKSONVILLE: The Jaguars are coming off a 24-3 loss to the Dolphins last week. Jacksonville has now lost 10 of its last 11 games and has been held under 20 points in their last three contests. Jacksonville has also allowed at least 24 points in 11 of their 14 games this season. Jacksonville game up 389 yards to Miami in last week’s loss, including 180 rushing yards. The Jacksonville offense had 299 total yards of offense in the loss. Quarterback Chad Henne threw for 221 yards on 18 of 34 passing. Henne has had a passer rating of under 75.0 in his last three games and has three interceptions with just one touchdown in that span.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, New England is the clear favorite on the road, as the Patriots have odds of -14 points against the Jaguars. The over/under total has been set at 48.5 points. New England is 10-4 on the season, 5-2 on the road and 8-6 against the spread. Jacksonville is 2-12 on the season, 1-6 at home and 6-8 against the spread.
