MIAMI: The Dolphins are coming off a 23-16 loss to the Patriots at home. Miami has now lost four of their last five games, scoring 20 points or less in all four losses. The Dolphins were held to 277 yards of total offense in the loss. Rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill went just 13 of 29 passing for 186 yards. He didn’t have a turnover, but he also didn’t throw a touchdown. What was impressive for the Dolphins was they held the explosive Patriots offense to just 321 yards. Miami is allowing just 20.8 points per game on the season.
SAN FRANCISCO: The 49ers are coming off a 16-13 overtime loss to the Rams last week. It was the first loss the 49ers had suffered in six games. San Francisco struggled to find a consistent offense in the loss as the 49ers totaled just 339 yards of offense. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick still had decent stats, throwing for 208 yards with no interceptions while rushing for 84 yards on nine carries. Defensively, the 49ers held St. Louis to just 293 yards of offense, but Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein knocked in a pair of field goals from over 50 yards out and the Rams scored a defensive touchdown. San Francisco still has the top defense in the league, allowing just 14.3 points per game and 279.6 yards per contest.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the 49ers are 10-point favorites at home against the Dolphins, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 39 points. San Francisco is 8-3 on the season, 4-1 at home and 7-5 against the spread. Miami is 5-7 overall, 2-4 on the road and 6-6 against the spread.
