Eagles vs. Bucs Odds
TAMPA, FL (The Spread) - The Bucs will put their playoff hopes on the line this Sunday when they host the struggling Eagles at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.
PHILADELPHIA: The Eagles have now lost eight straight games following their 38-33 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday night football last week. Nick Foles completed 22-of-34 passes for 251 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions, while rookie Bryce Brown rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries, but he lost yet another fumble. Jason Avant also caught four passes for 79 yards while Brent Celek caught seven passes for 73 yards. The loss dropped the Eagles’ record to 3-9 and 2-9-1 against the spread, although they did cover for the first time in seven games.
TAMPA BAY: After winning four straight games and becoming the talk of the NFC, the Bucs have now lost two straight following their 31-23 loss to the Broncos last Sunday. Josh Freeman completed 18-of-39 passes for 242 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, while Doug Martin rushed 18 times for 56 yards. Mike Williams caught six passes for 93 yards with one touchdown, while Vincent Jackson caught three passes for 55 yards. The loss dropped Tampa Bay’s record to 6-6 but the team covered the 9.5-point spread and is now 9-2-1 against the number this season. The Bucs are currently battling a handful of teams for the two wild card spots in the NFC.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bucs are 9-point favorites versus the Eagles, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47.5 points. Philadelphia is 3-9 overall and 1-5 on the road, while Tampa Bay is 6-6 overall and 3-3 at home this season.
TRENDS: The Eagles are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games overall and 1-7-1 against the number in their last nine games versus the NFC. The Buccaneers are also 5-0-1 against the spread in their lat six games overall, but 9-23-1 against the number in their last 33 home games.
