The Sunday Night Football matchup should be a good one this week when the Arizona Cardinals host the Minnesota Vikings at 8:25PM ET.
The Vikings crushed the Bears 36-10 as a 10.5-point favorite in Week 12, while the combined score went under the posted total of 47 points. Brett Favre threw for 392 yards with three touchdowns for Minnesota, while rookie Percy Harvin caught six passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.
The Cardinals lost to the Titans 20-17 as a 3.5-point underdog in Week 12. The combined score fell under the posted total of 44.5 points as backup QB Matt Leinart threw for 220 yards for Arizona. Tim Hightower also added 55 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Vikings 3.5-point favorites against the Cardinals in Week 13. The over/under total for this game has been set at 48.5 points.
The key to this game is whether or not Kurt Warner will play after missing last week with a head injury. He should play, but will he be 100%? Probably not, which is why we like the Vikings in this matchup.
Arizona is just 2-6 against the spread in its last eight games when playing Minnesota and 2-4 against the number in its last six games when playing at home against the Vikings. Minnesota, meanwhile, is 5-1 against the spread in its last six games on the road.
The Cardinals have a stout run defense so they might be able to somewhat contain Adrian Peterson. But the problem is that even though a team has success stopping Peterson, Favre will beat them over the top through the passing game. Outside of Pittsburgh, no team has been close to stopping the Vikings’ potent offense this season.
Our free pick prediction for this game is the Vikings –3.5 and the over, which has hit in 14 of Arizona’s last 18 games at home.
