Eagles vs. Bengals Prediction
Which team will get back on track today when the Cincinnati Bengals host the Philadelphia Eagles at 1PM ET?
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Bengals are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -1.5 point against the Eagles. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 41.5 points. Cincinnati is 2-0-1 in the last three against Philly and the Bengals have covered in the last seven lined meetings.
Cincinnati has lost three straight and only won one of its last seven games. The Bengals are now 3-7-1 on the season and just 3-8 against the spread. They have failed to cover in their last four contests. Cincinnati continues to be without its best player, as A.J. Green has a hamstring injury that is likely to put him out for the rest of the year. The Bengals average just 19.4 points per game on offense on the season and they have scored just 26 points in their last two games combined. Andy Dalton has thrown for 3,043 yards and 12 touchdowns with six interceptions. Jeremy Hill is the leading rusher and has run for 644 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, Cincinnati is giving up 22.3 points and 378 yards per game.
The Eagles have dropped four of their last five games to fall to 5-6 on the season and 5-6 against the spread. Philly is averaging just 23.1 points and 350.6 yards per game on the season on offense, but they also have been held to 15 points or less in their last two games. After a strong start for rookie QB Carson Wentz, he now has just 2,593 passing yards with 11 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Ryan Mathews has run for 427 yards and seven touchdowns to be the team’s leading rusher, but he will be out once again with a knee injury that sidelined him last week as well. Jordan Matthews is the leading receiver with 57 catches for 686 yards and three scores, but he has an ankle injury that has him questionable to play. Defensively, Philly has been solid, allowing just 19.4 points and 353.7 yards per game. They also have 25 sacks with 16 turnovers forced.

The Eagles are banged up on offense and just not performing well on that side of the ball for a few weeks. They now go on the road and face a Cincinnati team that can still make plays. While Philly’s defense may keep them in this game, I don’t see Wentz playing well enough to carry the Eagles to a win. Give me the Bengals to find a way to win and cover in a tough contest.
