Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Chiefs are 14.5-point favorites to beat the Raiders. The total, meanwhile, sits at 55.5 points. As of this writing, 71% of the public betting tickets are on the Chiefs to cover the point spread.
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes completed 33-of-46 passes for 478 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions in the Chiefs’ 54-51, Week 11 loss to the Rams on Monday night. A game for the ages. Simple as that. This may end up being the true “Super Bowl” of the season, and we can only hope to see this matchup again in February for pure entertainment purposes. Mahomes turned the ball over five times, losing a pair of fumbles, setting up two Rams touchdowns, but two of his picks were last-ditch heaves in the fourth quarter with the Chiefs chasing three points. The guy is just incredible, and he and Jared Goff combined for 925 total yards and 11 touchdowns in a battle of MVP hopefuls. Mahomes’ scores went to Tyreek Hill (two), Chris Conley (two), Travis Kelce, and Kareem Hunt. Both teams earned their Week 12 byes. Mahomes will get the Raiders in Week 13.
Oakland Raiders
Derek Carr completed 16-of-34 passes for 194 yards and a touchdown Sunday in Oakland’s Week 12 loss to the Ravens. Carr was sacked three times for a loss of 12 yards. Playing one of the league’s toughest defenses on the road with a depleted receiving corps, Carr’s afternoon was doomed from the start. Carr was checked for a concussion late in the first half and also tweaked his ankle in the fourth quarter, though neither injury was serious. The five-year vet lost a costly fumble, which Terrell Suggs scooped up for a 43-yard touchdown with just under six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. On a more positive note, Carr has now gone six straight games without throwing an interception. The Raiders could be in for another rough game when the 9-2 Chiefs visit in Week 13.
NFL Betting Trends
Kansas City
The under is 8-0-1 in the Chiefs’ last nine games following a bye week.
Oakland
The under is 6-1 in the Raiders’ last seven games versus a team with a winning record.
Prediction
The under is 19-7 in the last 26 meetings between these two teams, is 4-1 in the Chiefs’ last five games coming off a loss, and is 7-2 in the Raiders’ last nine home games. The under is also 13-5 in Oakland’s last 18 games overall and I don’t see this Raiders offense putting up enough points to get this combined score over.
NFL Week 13 Prediction: Chiefs/Raiders under 55.5
