Jaguars vs. 49ers Pick
Non-conference foes will battle in Week 12 when the San Francisco 49ers host the Jacksonville Jaguars at 4:05PM ET on Sunday.
In Week 11, the Jaguars failed to cover as 8.5-point favorites but did beat the Bills 18-15. The combined score fell under the posted total of 41 points as David Garrard threw for 215 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Jags. Maurice Jones-Drew also rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.
The 49ers pushed as 6-point underdogs in Week 11, but lost 30-24 to the Packers. The combined score went over the posted total of 42 points as Alex Smith threw for 227 yards with three touchdowns and an interception for San Francisco. Vernon Davis also hauled in six passes for 106 yards and a touchdown.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the 49ers 3-point favorites over the Jaguars in Week 12. The over/under total for this game has been set at 41.5 points.
Considering that the Jaguars have won four of their last five games, this seems like a small trap. Even though they’re at home, the 49ers have lost four of their last five and yet find themselves as favorites. That sends up a red flag to us.
San Francisco is 6-2 straight up in its last eight games at home and we think they’ll win their fifth game of the season this Sunday. The Jaguars are having some issues stopping the run this year and Frank Gore could take advantage while busting off a couple big runs. Speaking of stopping the run, the Niners are allowing less than 95 yards per game on the ground this year and should be able to take away Jacksonville’s best offensive attribute.
Take the 49ers –3 and the over 41.5. The total has gone over in four of San Francisco’s last six games.
Our NFL Week 12 Free Pick for this matchup is: SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS -3 and OVER 41.5.
