Jets vs. Patriots Spread Prediction
The New England Patriots had two weeks to stew about their loss to the Titans. Will they rebound with a resounding effort today when they visit the New York Jets at 1:00 p.m. ET? Better yet, will they cover as a double-digit favorite?
Game Snapshot
261 New England Patriots at 262 New York Jets
1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, November 25
MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Patriots are 10.5-point favorites to beat the Jets. The total, meanwhile, sits at 46.5 points. As of this writing, 71% of the public betting tickets are on the Patriots to cover the point spread.
New England Patriots
Rob Gronkowski (ankle, back) is officially questionable for Week 12 against the Jets. He’s listed as questionable, but Gronk said he’s “good to go” in a press conference Friday afternoon. After sitting out the past 27 days, we expect he’s out there on Sunday. Tom Brady (knee, illness) is questionable but reportedly “expected to play,” too. Brady has notably struggled against the blitz this season, so he’s best suited to be utilized against the Jets’ blitz-happy scheme in season-long formats (rather than in DFS lineups) Sunday.
New York Jets
Robby Anderson (ankle) is questionable for Week 12 against the Patriots. Anderson was upgraded to limited availability Friday, indicating there’s a chance he returns to the lineup this week against the Patriots. It would be a tremendous help for Josh McCown, who’s slated to make his second straight start in place of Sam Darnold (foot, out). Anderson and McCown boomed together last season, and could make noise against a struggling Pats secondary if he’s deemed healthy enough to go Sunday.
NFL Betting Trends
New England
The Patriots are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games against divisional opponents and 16-6 at the betting window in their last 22 road games.
New York
The Jets are 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 home games but 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against the AFC conference.
Prediction
This feels like a lot of points to lay in a divisional game, until the Patriots get up by four touchdowns and you’re wondering why you backed a bad Jets team. As previously mentioned, New England had two weeks to stew on that ugly loss to Tennessee and will come out firing against New York, which doesn’t have enough offense to hang with the Pats when the Pats eventually get rolling. I’m buying the hook but laying the lumber.
NFL Week 12 Prediction: New England Patriots -10 (buy hook)
